Customers receive their promised resource whether they join your email list or decline. A signup is submitted only after they choose to join and provide their email address.
Before you begin
- A Kabul Pro Pro account. The Automation and Basic plans do not include this email signup integration.
- A connected Facebook Page or Instagram professional account.
- Your own Kit account and a signup form belonging to the relevant business.
- A clear description of the emails the customer is choosing to receive.
Kit's Free plan supports signup forms and subscriber collection. Automated email sequences depend on your Kit plan. Check Kit's current Free plan details before setting up a welcome sequence.
In Kit, configure the form's confirmation or incentive email. For double opt-in, enable the confirmation email and disable automatic confirmation. Kabul Pro submits new subscribers as unconfirmed; Kit controls the form's confirmation behavior.
Connect and configure
Installing from Kit
Choose Install on Kabul Pro's Kit app page. If you are signed out, sign in to Kabul Pro or create an account and then sign in. Your installation continues after login.
Select the Facebook or Instagram business account you want to connect. If none is connected, choose Connect a social account, complete its connection in the dashboard, and use Continue Kit setup to return. If your plan does not include signup, choose View plans; invited reviewers can redeem their private invitation using the specified account email.
Select Continue to Kit, approve the intended Kit account, and finish the installation on Kit. When returned to Kabul Pro, choose your signup form in the automation editor. Setup requests expire after one hour; if yours expires, restart installation from Kit.
Connecting from the dashboard
- Sign in at app.kabulpro.com and open the automation editor under Automations.
- Choose a keyword and write the public reply and promised DM. Add the resource link you want to deliver.
- Under Sales Tools, enable Offer optional email signup.
- Select the Business account that should offer signup. Other connected accounts do not inherit this connection.
- Select Connect Kit. Sign in on Kit and review its authorization screen. Approve only the account you intend to connect.
- Return to Kabul Pro and choose a Kit signup form. Use Refresh if a newly created form is not shown.
- Write the signup invitation. Name the business and explain what emails people will receive. Keep signup optional.
- Review the DM preview, save the automation, and test it before using it with customers.
Example invitation
Would you also like weekly English lessons from Speak Fluentia by email? Joining is optional, and you can unsubscribe anytime.
The DM and invitation must fit within the button template's 640-character limit. A legacy lead form and email signup cannot be enabled together in the same automation.
If the automation requires an Instagram follow, follow verification happens first. The signup invitation accompanies the delivered resource, not the follow request. This does not add Facebook follow verification.
The customer experience
- The customer comments the automation keyword.
- Kabul Pro delivers the promised content. If Instagram follow verification is enabled, the customer completes that first.
- The delivered message offers separate choices: open the resource, Join email list, or No thanks.
- Only after selecting Join email list is the customer asked for an email address.
- Kabul Pro validates the address and submits it to the selected Kit form. If the form requires email confirmation, the customer finishes signup in Kit's confirmation email.
Opening the resource, following the account, declining, or sending an unsolicited email address does not count as signup consent. The promised content is not conditional on joining the email list.
During the email-entry step, the customer can reply STOP or CANCEL to cancel that signup. They can unsubscribe from future emails using the unsubscribe option in emails sent by Kit.
Test your automation
- Use a fresh test comment, then open the delivered resource without joining. Confirm the resource works.
- Test No thanks. No signup should be submitted.
- With a new invitation, choose Join email list and enter an email address you control. Verify the correct form in the correct Kit account.
- Check the confirmation email and the subscriber's status in Kit. A submitted signup is not proof that an email was delivered or confirmed.
- If you manage more than one business, test them separately to ensure their forms and subscribers are not mixed.
Use only your own email address or that of a person who has explicitly agreed to the test. Kabul Pro does not send newsletter broadcasts or start email sequences itself; those are configured in Kit.
Disconnect Kit
In the email signup settings, select the business account and choose Disconnect. This removes that account's saved connection from Kabul Pro. It does not delete existing subscribers from Kit or unsubscribe them from emails already configured there.
To remove the app's authorization in Kit as well, manage the Kabul Pro app in Kit's Apps settings. Reconnecting to a different Kit account does not silently transfer a customer's earlier signup consent to the new account.
Troubleshooting
I cannot see the email signup controls.
Open Sales Tools in an automation and check that your account has Kabul Pro Pro. Refresh the dashboard after changing plans. Contact support if the controls are still missing.
Kit says the connection is not configured.
Contact Kabul Pro support. Customers should not create developer credentials or paste API keys into the dashboard.
Installation expired or was cancelled.
Restart from the Kit app page or Connect Kit in your automation. Sign in with the intended Kabul Pro account and select the correct social account before approving Kit. Cancelling setup does not delete your account or subscribers.
The form list is empty or shows the wrong business.
Check the selected social account and the Kit account you authorized. Create the intended form in Kit, then refresh the list. If needed, disconnect the incorrect business connection and reconnect the correct account.
The customer has not received a confirmation email.
Check the selected form, its confirmation settings, the subscriber's state in Kit, and the spam folder. Existing subscribers may have a different confirmation state. Do not promise email delivery based only on the DM acknowledgment.
Signup failed after the customer entered an email.
Check the Kit connection and selected form. The customer can explicitly retry within the active signup session. Attempts are limited, and pending signup interaction expires after 24 hours. After the limit is reached, contact the business or support for help.
A customer previously unsubscribed.
Kabul Pro does not automatically reactivate addresses Kit reports as unsubscribed, bounced, or complained. Use Kit's appropriate resubscription process rather than importing the address again.
Data and consent
Kabul Pro records the signup invitation, the customer's acceptance time, their submitted email, and the selected business/form context. Kit access credentials remain server-side and are not displayed in the dashboard.
The business is responsible for the emails it sends and for handling subscriber requests in its Kit account. Removing local Kabul Pro data does not by itself delete a subscriber from Kit. See our Privacy Policy and contact Kabul Pro Support for help with a privacy or deletion request.
